I am always reading, even if it's just a couple of pages a night... sometimes it takes me ages to get through a book because I am so bored and sometimes I am so excited about a good read that I am up all night trying to put it down!
This book here, is wonderful.... ~The Picture of Dorian Gray~ by Oscar Wilde
A true classic.
I love this sort of writing , it's from another time, when conversing was an art form.
Dorian Gray, is wicked and sad (in my opinion those two usually go hand in hand). He cares more about his beauty and youth then anything else... that never ends well, now does it....
What is this blog all about? Well... it's about a bit of this and a bit of that. Pieces that I am working on. Pieces that inspire me. Good finds and bad. My family of course! And parts of life that are ordinary and fascinating.I like to pass on good finds... Like books, food, art, music and fashion. I hope that you do not find me to much of a bore here, I will try and keep it simple.

Putting on a new hat...
was easier than I thought...
I always, alllllways wear my Boston Red Sox hat to every baseball game I attend... I have never had any other thought then to put on my old beloved worn in blue and red... until the other night. I was talking about my hat and the game when my husband said to me... Really? You are seriously still going to wear your hat to a padres game when there is not a red sox player in sight and most importantly you have lived here, in SD, for almost half of your life (16 years!). So, I fought it at first, I said, yes of course I am! Then I sat there and realized, he was right, it's time to root for my home team... the Padres. So, the first thing I did when I got to the game, was purchase my SD blue and white Padres hat. I was a little nervous at first, thinking I may get struck down by Boston lightning but by the 2nd inning, It actually felt really good, to let something go... something I held on to for so long. And to cheer for something new. It was like I grew up a bit, right then and there. Ah, growth. We ended up losing that night ( like losing, losing) and for the first time, I actually felt it!

My Red Dress
my Old faithful... The Red Dress. I am a big Believer in finding things that you love, that are made well, fit well, wear well, and hanging on to them. I have forever been patching up this beauty of mine through the years and I will continue too, I can't give up on her, too many memories in this dress. I have had her for 11 years! In this dress, I have... had first dates. last dates. slept in. woken up and went to work in. fallen in love. heart broken in. met my new born niece in. traveled across the country. got a bit too drunk in. sobbed my eyes out. wore my favorite boots in. dressed up. beached it in. hugged all my loves. waved sad goodbyes in. ate some amazing meals. laughed many a laughs in. had an old boyfriend hold her hostage. have had some unforgettable conversations in. have done some naughty things in. showed up for my best friends in. watched the sunrise and sunset in. Honeymooned in. have run after my little one and this photograph that I am standing in, I am pregnant with my baby boy grey. so much life in one red dress. and if you know me at all, then you know me in it.
p.s know your local cobbler.
3 things I'm really loving...
I

Klean Kanteen, I never leave home with out my daughters and my own. Completely, overly worth the $20+ you pay for one. It's so nice to not have to buy plastic bottles anymore, as we all know, it's better for all.
This Video I have loved for months! Truly inspires me every time I watch it. Lou Doillon is one of my Favorites and I adore Vanessa Bruno's Clothing.
